In a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity; Garba Shehu, the President has reiterated his commitment to providing job opportunities for Nigerians through new agricultural programmes.
President Muhammadu Buhari who disclosed this in his Daura hometown in Katsina State made the point that the decision is hinged on the need for continuity of an already established system.
According to him, “Nigerians are already benefiting from the good agricultural policies of this administration, lifestyles are changing and standards of living among the poor are rising.
“In the last three and a half years, the contributions of agriculture to the country’s GDP have been impressive, in addition to earnings from food exports”.
While recounting the Federal Government’s success in the area of fertiliser, the President affirmed that his administration has “broken the fertiliser jinx and the products are today available in all local governments at low prices”.
“More measures are in the offing to transform the lives of millions of Nigerians across the country.” He said.
