Cocoa processing factory in Cross River State is set to process cocoa beans in the state and export to neighbouring West African countries.
Commenting on the factory, State Commissioner for Agriculture, Professor Anthony Eneji, disclosed that the factory was equipped to process 240 tons of cocoa daily, which meets international standard.
Managing Director of the factory Mr. Agara, added that work was progressing to meet the December commissioning timeline.
He also revealed that German expatriates installing the equipment had been training Nigerians on how to maintain the equipment and keep it in top form to meet the tonnage production capacity.
The factory which is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of the year is equipped with modern facilities and expected to produce 50,000 tons per annum.
