The Taraba State Government  has begun the training of marshals to implement the ban on open grazing.

Senior Special Assistant to the Governor,  Bala Dan-Abu disclosed to journalists in Jalingo that the government was training marshals that had been approved by lawmakers for the implementation of the ban on open grazing.

According to him, “The training being conducted for the government by a licensed security agency is for marshals, as approved by the Taraba State House of Assembly under the state’s Open Grazing Restriction and Establishment of Ranches Law.

Meanwhile, Bala  denied the claims that Taraba State government was  training illegal security personnel in the state.

In his words  “Truth is that the Taraba State government is not involved in any illegal training of security personnel anywhere in the state”.

Dan-Abu said the allegation made by the Special Military Task Force in the state is false and also a misrepresentation of facts.

The current training in Serti, Gashaka Local Government of Taraba State is the second of such exercises in the state and we will like to say, with emphasis that this training does not involve the use of any form of weapon.”
