Cooperative Society charges LGAs on Moringa seeds

The Moringa Farmers Cooperative Society has called on Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Nigeria to enlighten their communities on the value of moringa seeds to clean water.

The Chairman of the cooperative in Ijaye community, Oyo, Adebimpe Ojediran, made this plea when the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) Inspection Team paid a visit to Life Builder Centre, an NGO, in Ijaye.

Ojediran said water purification through the use of moringa would go a long way in assisting rural communities lacking potable water.

According to him, “What they need to do is to put moringa seeds into water and purify it for use.”

“The people must be sensitized. I mean information must be given to them to see how it works before they get into it.”

She lamented “that the local governments are not doing any advocacy on this but all they are after is to sink some wells which dry off after some time,”.
