Flood destroys rice farm in Anambra


The Anambra State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) says that flood has destroyed about 200 hectares of rice farm at Omor in Ayamelum Local Government Area of the state.

Executive Director, Anambra State Emergency Management Agency, Cyprian Agupugo, revealed this during an interview at Omor, Anambra state.

According to him,   the major river in the area burst its bank destroying Ojabo Rice Farm worth millions of Naira.

Agupugo who sympathized with the farmers assured them that the agency would try hard to support affected farmers.

He further urged the Federal Government to intercede noting that the flood proportion was beyond them.

“The level of flooding in the state at moment is beyond the SEMA.” He stated
