Farmers-Herdsmen clash: Groups seek to resolve issue


In a bid to ensure safety of its members following a number of farmers-herdsmen clashes, the South-Western commodity farmers’ Association and the Miyeti Allah group has called for coalition of data to enable member’s documentation.

The coalition for the South-West commodity Association is set to be handled by the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) commission, a commission set up to monitor and ensure development in the South-Western part of the country.

In the same vein, Miyeti Allah’s national president, Alhaji Muhammadu Kirowa Ardon Zuru said that the group was ready to begin the coalition of names and the issuance of ID card and it will be handled by the group’s team.

Speaking at the event was the Onido of Ido, Oyo state who stated that the Governor, Abiola Ajimobi had announced that every Fulani herdsman would wear a card as a means of identification.

Osun state Commissioner for Special duties, Hon. Oguntola Toogun stated that a committee which he heads has achieved enviable progress in broaching peace between the farmers and herdsmen in Osun state.
